As a practising barrister he has a thorough knowledge of the law of England and Wales and brings a wealth of experience honed at the highest levels of conflict resolution. John-Paul has commercial experience at board level and is regularly engaged to speak at large events and conferences. He sits as a member of council for the Nautical Institute, an NGO with consultative status at the International Maritime Organisation of the United Nations, representing seafarers and maritime professionals worldwide.
